Solar Technician

 

Course Information:

During the one-year duration of Solar Technician (Electrical)trade a candidate is trained on professional Skill, professional Knowledge and Employability Skill related to job role. In addition to this a candidate is entrusted to undertake project work and extracurricular activities to build up confidence. The broad components covered under Professional Skill subject are as below:-During the course the trainee learns about safety and environment, use of fire extinguishers, artificial respiratory resuscitation to begin with. He gets the idea of trade tools & its standardization, identifies different types of conductors, cables & their skinning & joint making. Basic electrical laws and their application in different combinations of electrical circuit are practiced along with laws of magnetism. Performs testing by various Electrical Instruments like Wattmeter, Energy meter, etc.Performs basic Electric energy calculations and understand transmission and distribution of electrical power.The Trainee understands natural planetary movements and sunlight’s path.Measures intensity of solar radiation, analyzes shadow effect on incident solar radiation, plot scurve of radiation measured and draws a solar map with respect to time for a location.The Trainee learns about characteristics of Photovoltaic cells and modules,Batteries, Charge Controllers and constructs small Solar DC appliances. The Trainee learns to arrange and test solar batteries and their correct disposal. Learns connections and testing of Solar Panel, Charge Controller,Battery Bank and Inverter.Learns types of Inverters used in the Solar system and their application according to the requirements of the project. Prepares bill of material for small, medium and mega solar projects.Plan and prepares reports on building integrated solar mount.Installation and commissioning of Solar PV plant and hybrid plants.The Trainee learns various tests pertaining to PV Modules and their installation as per IEC standards. Understands manufacturing process of solar panels, prepare and commission marketable solar products viz.,solar water pump, solar street light, solar fertilizer sprayer etc. The Trainee learns about electrical maintenance of Inverters/Cables/Junction boxes, inspection of mounting structure of solar modules and replacement of defective fixtures.

IoT Technician (Smart Agriculture)                         Total Seats: 24

Course Information:

During the one-year duration of IoT Technician (Smart Agriculture) trade a candidate is trained on professional skill, professional knowledge and Employability skill related to job role. In addition to this a candidate is entrusted to undertake project work and extracurricular activities to build up confidence. The broad components covered under Professional skill subject are as below:-
In the first year, the trainee will select and perform electrical/ electronic measurement of meters and instruments. They will test various electronic components using proper measuring instruments and compare the data using standard parameter. The trainees will be able to Identify, place, solder and de-solder and test different SMD discrete components and ICs package with due care and following safety norms using proper tools/setup. They will construct, test and verify the input/ output characteristics of various analog circuits. They will also assemble simple electronic power supply circuit and test for functioning and test and troubleshoot various digital circuits. They will install, configure, interconnect given computer system(s) and networking to demonstrate & utilize application packages for different applications. They will develop troubleshooting skills in various standard electronic circuits using electronic simulation software. Trainees will apply the principle of sensors and transducers for various IoT applications. They can explore the need of different signal conditioning and converter circuits. They will also identify, test and troubleshoot the various families of Microcontroller. Trainees will plan and interface input and output devices to evaluate performance with Microcontroller. The trainee will identify different IoT Applications with IoT architecture.
The trainees will identify different IoT applications with IoT architecture. They will also identify and select various types of sensors used in Smart Agriculture. Trainees will position the appropriate sensors and collect the information required in Smart Agriculture. The will identify and select different wireless communication modules and topology to generate and record the data. They will get knowledge of Solar Panel Basics Testing, Characteristics, Charge Controller Circuit. They can perform installation, configuration and working of IoT devices, network, database, app and web services. They will identify and install the devices used in green house. They will monitor soil moisture, temperature etc. for controlling irrigation & record data. They can select plant health monitoring system and apply proper water, fertilizer and pesticides. They will also Identify and install the appropriate device for livestock monitoring and Identify, select, install and troubleshoot the components of drones. They will be able to collect data using drones.

The trainees will also acquire the knowledge of monitoring health parameters like Blood Pressure, ECG, EMG, Heart rate, EEG, SPO2 etc. by suitable sensors (PHMS). They will be able to apply the sensor output data for further computing, analyzing and visualisation. The trainees will learn aboutremote health monitoring and Tele-health. The trainees will identify and select different Robots used in healthcare.
